Esmeralda Silva’s career has been comprised of roles revolving around building strong relationships. Over the past 20+ years, she has held leadership roles at universities within student affairs, academic affairs, administrative services, military outreach and partnerships, military and veteran relations, compliance, and regulatory affairs, allowing her to create and implement integrated strategies as well as collaborate with cross-departmental leaders to ensure a university-wide focus on student success.

 

Ms. Silva is actively involved in advocating for improved support and services for military members, veterans, and their families. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Council of College and Military Educators as the President.  CCME is an active proponent for the professional development of those serving in the military education community by providing a forum for the exchange of information on educational programs, strategies, and innovation among its members and associated partners. She also serves on the George W. Bush Institute Veteran Higher Education Task Force for Policy. She also served as the President of the California Advisory Council on Military Education from 2015-2018.

 

Ms. Silva is a true advocate for underserved communities and strives to improve lives through the power of education.
